Terms of Use

By using the YolkHatch app or the professional portal at yolkhatch.com, you agree to these terms. Both are operated by Summitview Land Holdings, LLC.

1. What YolkHatch is — and is not

YolkHatch is a food logging and engagement tool. It adds up what you enter and shows how far you are from your goal.

It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, does not prescribe, and does not replace consultation with a physician or registered dietitian. Default goals are a generic starting point and may not fit your case. Decisions about diet, medication, supplementation, or post-operative care belong with the healthcare professional treating you.

In an emergency, seek medical care. Do not use the app for that.

2. Accuracy of nutrition data

Food values come from the public Open Food Facts database, maintained by contributors, and from image recognition running on your device. Both can be wrong. Treat the numbers as estimates and verify them whenever the decision matters. We are not liable for decisions made solely on those values.

3. Your account

You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for keeping access to your account and for the information you record. We may suspend accounts used for fraud, abuse, or violations of these terms.

4. Linking with a professional

By entering a practitioner's code, you authorize them to view your daily log and set your goals. That relationship is between you and them: Summitview does not provide nutrition services, does not supervise practitioners, does not verify the registration number they self-report, and is not responsible for the guidance they give.

For practitioners: you are solely responsible for the goals you set, for your professional registration, and for the confidentiality of your patients' data. Only use the portal with patients who have consented.

5. Subscription and purchases

YolkHatch Plus is a subscription sold through the App Store. Price, period, and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen inside the app before you confirm.

• The subscription renews automatically until you cancel.
• Cancel in iPhone Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. It takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policy — we have no access to the billing.
• Coins are a consumable item with no monetary value, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
• If the subscription ends, pets bought with coins remain yours; pets unlocked only by the subscription become unavailable.

The professional portal is free. If that changes, we will give advance notice and will not charge existing users retroactively.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not circumvent limits, reverse engineer, or access other people's data.
• Do not use the service for illegal activity or to advise others without a license.
• Do not overload our infrastructure or third-party services through the app.

7. Ownership

The app, the portal, the YolkHatch name, and the pet artwork belong to Summitview. What you record stays yours — we only process it to deliver the service, as described in the privacy policy.

8. Availability and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors, or fitness for a particular health objective. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event.

Nothing here removes rights the law grants you as a consumer.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the app and requesting deletion of your data. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your history.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without prejudice to the consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
